Bayside’s lakeshore trail is now open to the public, providing all Rowlett residents and their families with a new place to walk, run, bike and enjoy outdoors by the lake.

The 1-mile, 12-foot wide trail has ample space for biking, jogging and dog walking. Dozens of benches, handicap-accessible ramps and open green spaces allow it to be a welcoming outdoor amenity for everyone.

The trail can be accessed by car via Sunset Boulevard from Dalrock and via Bayside Drive from the I-30 access ramp. Additionally, it can be accessed on foot through a pedestrian plaza in between Fuqua Road and Sunset. On-street parking is available along the trail.

The trail also passes and connects to Peninsula Park, which started construction in early December and is expected to be complete in March. The 8-acre peninsula park includes a half-acre dog park, almost 400 new trees and a winding trail around its 3-acre meadow.
